Hyperthyroidism Hyperthyroidism can be treated with resolving fire. The resolving of fire requires supplementing of yin. Zi Gan Cao Tang ( 炙甘草湯 ) in Gu Fang ( 古方 ) is used and well known to be effective. There is Di Huang ( 地黃 ) and Mai men dong which supplement yin resulting in downbearing fire. Qing Li Zi Kan Tang ( 淸離滋坎湯 ) also can be used. if water gets to help fire, fire descends by itself. Zi Gan Cao Tang ( 炙甘草湯 ) Qing Li Zi Kan Tang ( 淸離滋坎湯 ) liu wei Di huang Tang with Zhi mu and huang Bai ( 六味地黃湯 加 知母 黃柏 ) Qing Huo Bu Yin Tang ( 淸火補陰湯 )
