Hyperthyroidism can be treated with resolving fire. The resolving of fire requires supplementing of yin. Zi Gan Cao Tang (炙甘草湯) in Gu Fang (古方) is used and well known to be effective. There is Di Huang (地黃) and Mai men dong which supplement yin resulting in downbearing fire. Qing Li Zi Kan Tang (淸離滋坎湯) also can be used.

if water gets to help fire, fire descends by itself.
