1. wind warmth, warm heat, warm epidemic, warm toxin, winter warmth
(13). After heat evil enters lower burner deep, the
pulse is sunken and rapid, and there is dry tongue, and black teeth, and then
even though there is moving feeling only in the fingers, one must prevent tetanic reversal urgently, Er Jia Fu Mai Tang (二甲复脈) governs this.
This line is to inform presymptom of tetanic
reversal for people. At seven or eight days after warm disease if heat enters deep and does not resolve,
fluids in the mouth get dry, even
though there is moving feeling only in the fingers, one should prevent tetanic
reversal immediately. One must not treate this after tetanic reversal occurs, therefore one should nourish yin with Hu Mai
Tang (复the pulse汤) and add drugs such as crustacean
to subdue yang, this
make yang and yin communicate with each other and then tetanic reversal
will not almost occur.
Er Jia Fu Mai Tang (二甲复脈汤)
（the method with salty, cold, sweet, and moisture.）
This formula
add Mu Li (牡蛎, five qian) and Bie Jia (鳖甲,
eight qian) to
Jia Jian Fu Mai Tang (加减复脈汤, Modified Restore the Pulse Decoction).
(14). In lower burner warm disease, if there is severe heat, severe revesal, pulse which is fine
and skipping, great moving in the heart, in severe case there is pain in the
heart, San Jia Fu Mai Tang (Triple-Armored
Pulse-Restorative (san jia fu mai tang) ) governs this.
The Er Jia Fu Mai Tang (二甲复脈汤)
in the above is to prevent tetanic reversal, even though tetanic reversal has
already occurred, this formula can be used. San Jia Fu Mai Tang (Triple-Armored
Pulse-Restorative (san jia fu mai tang) ) is that Gui Ban (龟板)
is adde to Er Jia Fu Mai Tang (二甲复脈湯). This is due to great moving (paipiation) in the heart and pain in
severe case. The great moving (paipiation) in the heart is because the heart
take water as the
body. When liver wind is exuberant, immediately the fluids gets exhausted. Originaly
vacuity kidney is uanable to help the liver, so tetanic reversal occurs. Furthremor,
after tetanic reversal occurs, it is harder for water to be supplemented suddenly, therefore the heart fails to
be supplied with water, therefore
palpitation occurs. In severe case there is pain in the heart,; “ the disease in yin link vessel
(陰維) causes heart pain”, this
sign is because prolonged heat damages yin. Eight extra meridians (奇經八脈) link to the liver and
kidney, the vacuity of the liver and kidney influences to yin link vessel, this
causes pain in the heart. This pain is different with the pain in the heart
which cold qi invaiding the
heart and chest causes and is treated with warming and freeing. Therefore one have to calm kidney qi, supplements conception vessel, and free yin link
vessel with Gui Ban (龟板) to pause heart pain, and make Er Jia (二甲: Mu Li and Bie Jia) which
enter the liver to reple evil, help the action of Gui Ban.
San Jia Fu Mai Tang (Triple-Armored
Pulse-Restorative (san jia fu mai tang) )

Gui Ban (龟板, one liang) is added to Er Jia Fu Mai Tang (二甲复脈汤).

Pill (ding feng zhu) Major
Arrest Wind Pearl)
governs this.
Warm evil, staying
in lower burner for long time, burns liver humor and this causes reversal,
agitates thoroughfare
vessel and this lead to retching, the
qi of yin and yang reduces so that the pulse is fine, liver wood gets strong so that the pulse is
stong. Therefore this
makes Ji Zi Huang (鸡子黄) to replete earth
and calm internal wind.；Gui Ban (龟板)
supplements conception vessel and calms thoroughfare vessel.；E Jiao (阿胶) has a nature of descendinf, supplements the fluids and extinguishes liver wind.； Although Dan Cai (淡菜) lives in salty warter but the flavor is bland, and the valve of
the exterior is two and the interior is one, this is the image of Kan Gua (坎卦) so that this can supplement
true yin of the yin, this
is closed tightly so that this can subdue true yang moving upward.；child’s urine is turbid fumor
so that this returns to tubid way, this is used as assistant. This is named
Ding Feng Zhu (Wind-Stabilizing Pill (ding feng zhu)), Ji Zi
Huang (鸡子黄) looks like breeds and is supplied with the essence of Xun Mu (Xun Mu (巽木 wind wood) wind wood), therefore this can extinguish liver wind,
the liver is related with Xun Mu (巽木 wind wood) and Xun
(巽 wind) means wind. A tortoise also has breeds (egg)
and the virtue of Zhe Wu (真武, the god of north) so that this calms Zhen Mu (震木, thunder wood). Zhen (震) is related with
thunder and the gall bladder in human, when the thunder crashes, wind occurs,
and when thunder calms, wind get subdued. Exuberant yiang ascending directly to
the vertex is as like
dragon ascending toward heaven, what restrains dragon is tortoise.
Xiao Ding Feng Zhu (小Wind-Stabilizing Pill (ding feng zhu) Major Arrest
Wind Pearl)
（the method with sweet, cold, and salty）
Ji Zi Huang (鸡子黄, one piece）E Jiao (阿胶, two qian）Gui Ban (龟板,
six qian）
child’s urin (童便, one cup) Dan Cai (淡菜, three qian）
First decoct Gui Ban (龟板)
and Dan Cai (淡菜, three qian）until five cupse of water become two cups, remove the dregs. Put E
Jiao (阿胶) into this
and then melt this over fire, mix with Ji Zi Huang (鸡子黄)
and child’s urin (童便), and then take this.
十三、热邪深入下焦，脉沉数，舌干齿黑，手指但觉蠕动，急防痉厥，二甲复脉汤主之。
此示人痉厥之渐也。温病七、八日以后，热深不解，口中津液干涸，但觉手指掣动，即当防其痉厥，不必俟其已厥而后治也。故以复脉育阴，加入介属潜阳，使阴阳交纽，庶厥不可作也。
二甲复脉汤方
（咸寒甘润法）即于加减复脉汤内，加生牡蛎五钱，生鳖甲八钱。
十四、下焦温病，热深厥甚，脉细促，心中大动，甚则心中痛者，三甲复脉汤主之。
前二甲复脉，防痉厥之渐；即痉厥已作，亦可以二甲复脉止厥。兹又加龟板名三甲者，以心中大动，甚则痛而然也。心中动者，火以水为体，肝风鸱张，立刻有吸尽西江之势，肾水本虚，不能济肝而后发痉；既痉而水难猝补，心之本体欲失，故然而大动也。甚则痛者，“阴维为病主心痛”，此证热久伤阴，八脉丽于肝肾，肝肾虚而累及阴维故心痛，非如寒气客于心胸之心痛，可用温通。故以镇肾气补任脉通阴维之龟板止心痛，合入肝搜邪之二甲，相济成功也。
三甲复脉汤方
（同二甲汤法）即于二甲复脉汤内，加生龟板一两。
十五、既厥且哕（俗名呃忒），脉细而劲，小定风珠主之。
温邪久踞下焦，烁肝液为厥，扰冲脉为哕，脉阴阳俱减，则细，肝木横强则劲，故以鸡子黄实土而定内风；龟板补任（谓任脉）而镇冲脉；阿胶沉降，补液而熄肝风；淡菜生一咸水之中而能淡，外偶内奇，有坎卦之象。能补阴中之真阳，其形翁阖，故又能潜真阳之上动；童便以浊液仍归浊道，用以为使也。名定风珠者，以鸡子黄宛如珠形，得巽木之精，而能熄肝风，肝为巽木，巽为风也。龟亦有珠，具真武之德而镇震木。震为雷，在人为胆，雷动未有无风者，雷静而风亦静矣。亢阳直上巅顶，龙上于天也，制龙者，龟也。古者豢龙御龙之法，失传已久，其大要不出乎此。
小定风珠方
（甘寒咸法）鸡子黄（生用，一枚）真阿胶（二钱）生龟板（六钱）童便（一杯）淡菜（三钱）水五杯，先煮龟板、淡菜得二杯，去滓，入阿胶，上火烊化，纳鸡子黄，搅令相得，再冲童便，顿服之。
