Young woman experienced
flooding at the three months of pregnancy. And she miscarried. Peple says that
damage to a sprain leads to flooding. Who knows that this is due to sexual
intercourse. Druring pregnancy, it should be careful. It should be treated with
supplementing qi mainly. And a bit of herbs which supplement blood should be
used as an assistant. Gu Qi Tang (Stabilize Qi Decoction, 固氣湯) is used.

Decoct the herbs
with water. taking of one Ji (劑) makes blood stanch, taking of ten Ji (劑) brings about recover. This formula secures
qi and supplements blood, therefore this make blood engender rapidly. This can
secure and constrain blood which is about to collapse. When the flooding is due
to qi vacuity, this formula can treat this case best. This is not only for
blooding of miscarriage. The action of stanching blood in this formula is in
the herbs which supplement qi. During pregnancy, one should keep away from
sexual intercourse. After having a sexual intercourse, even though this does
not lead to miscarriage fortunately, it is hard to nourish the survived fetus. One
should be careful of this.
【提要】flooding with miscarriage of young woman is due to not keeping away form
sexual intercourse in the condition of weakness of original qi. It should be treated
with supplementing of qi mainly and supplementing blood as an assistant. The
representative formula is Gu Qi Tang. In case of flooding due to qi vacuity,
this is the common formula.
2-3. 少婦血崩
有少婦甫娠三月,即便血崩,而胎亦隨墮,人以爲挫閃受傷而致,誰知是行房不愼之過哉!治法自當以補氣爲主,而少佐以補血乏品,斯爲得之.方用固氣湯.
固氣湯
人參（一兩）白朮（五錢,土炒）大熟地（五錢,九蒸）當歸（三錢,酒洗）白茯苓（二錢）甘草（一錢）杜仲（三錢,炒黑）山萸肉（二錢,蒸）遠志（一錢,去心）五味子（十粒,炒）
水煎服.一劑而血止,連服十劑全愈.此方固氣而兼補血.已去之血,可以速生,將脫之血,可以盡攝.凡氣虛而崩漏者,此方最可通治,非僅治小産之崩.其最妙者,不去止血,而止血之味,含於補氣之中也. 妊娠宜避房事,不避考縱幸不至崩往往墮胎,即不墮胎生子亦難養,愼之!戒之!
