The arrangement of organs and bowels with WenWang Bagua.
(後天의 卦象과 臟腑配屬)
1)
In kan gua (☵) corresponding to the kidney, the
one yang in the middle of kan gua means the fire of life gate (命門火), the two yin of both sides (1st and 3st)
mean the right and left of the kidneys. The one yang includes the meaning of
being generated from extrem yin, the beginning of qi transformation, and is the
origine (starting point) of ascending. Therefor it corresponds to life gate and
the bladder. In greater yang cold water (太陽寒水), greater
yang is derived from life gater fire and cold water is derived from kidney
water. Ma huang disperse water qi outward, but if it is used to the pattern of
kidney water vacuity, this can make side effect, in shang han lun there is
contraindication case of mahuang in detail.
2)
In li gua (☲) corresponding to the heart, as
there is two yang in the both sides and one yang in the middle, it looks like
that substances of the internal are diffused outward and the internal blood
(one yin) is diffused and provided to the whole body and as two yang extixts in
both exterior side the action of qi transformation is accomplished to the
peripheral side of the whole body. On the contrary to kan gua, in li gua (fire)
yang gets to approach extreme level and yin begins to be generated. Extreme
yang can compare to with the providing of blood and nourishments through
artery, the action of generating yin can compare to returning of blood from
artery to vein and heart.
3)
Zhen gua (☳) correspongding to the gall
bladder, represents the form of one yang beginning to come up through ground
(extreme yin) and qi which is generated in spring.
4)
Dui gua (☱) corresponding to the lungs,
represents the beginning of desceding of one yin. Owing to this function, the
cold qi in autumn gets to work. As cold weather in autumn cools the earth, the
lungs cools heart fire through exchange of gas. This is called that the lungs
governs qi (肺主氣). Clear qi (淸氣) and turbid qi (濁氣) are exchanged through
the exchange of O2 and CO2. This is kind of the exchange of metal and fire (金火交易). Dui gua has
the meaning of being astrictive and desceding.
5)
Xun gua (☴) corresponding to the liver, represents
dispersing of yang with being charged with yin. It may be guessed like that glycogen
(yin) reserved in the liver is converted to glucose (yang) to be needed for
energy.
6)
Qian gua (☰) corresponding to the large
intestine, belongs to both senile yang (老陽) and nine
metal (九金). The large intestine finally absorbs remaining water from dregs getting
through the progress of the small intestine and makes stool hard. The lungs
regulates body temperature and qi by exchanging of clear (O2) and turbid (CO2),
whereas the large intestine affects osmotic pressure by absorbing water, this
action influences the regulation of temperature and qi. Therefore the lung is
connected with clear metal and the large intestine is dry metal. The lungs and
large intestine have the relationship of clear(yin) and dry (yang).
7)
Gen gua (☶) corresponds to the stomach. One
yang locates in the upper part as mountain (山, Shan) is facing with heaven yang. Grain qi abosorbed in stomach
flows upward and becomes lung qi which is transformed to the qi of whole body. Therefore
the stomach is considered as original yang of later heaven.
8)
Kun gua (☷) corresponds to the spleen. The
spleen is connected with pure yin so that it manages the blood of whole body. And
the spleen corresponds to earth as the stomach dose, the spleen coorperate a
digestive process as earth generates all things. Insulin, considered spleen
series, makes the original qi of grain qi work, this action of assisting of qi
transformation is performed by the action of yang opening (陽開). Yang opening is performed in the place where extreme
yin genertates yang. And greater yin governs opening (太陰主開). The foot greater yin spleen and hand greater yin lung doses not
store fluid and qi but release them.
